Arnold Building
Formerly the Rusk County Library, the Arnold Building now houses our museum, gift shop, and staff workspace. Built in 1967, the structure served as a library until 1994 when the Depot Museum moved from the depot building into the Arnold Building.
The white brick used to construct the building has its own story. It was made here in Rusk County by Henderson Clay Products. When making white bricks for construction at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado, bricks were left over in an overrun. Those remaining bricks were donated to the county to build the library.
The building sits on land donated by the Arnold family with the intended use as a library or museum. Both objectives have been achieved.
